ABOUT US
What Makes Us Different
At NARI we are dedicated to providing ethical, compassionate service to donors and their families throughout the donation process. Our company connects donors to qualified mortuary science and surgical education institutions for the purpose of advancing the progress of science and education.
Many families believe that a memorial service or viewing is not possible with body donation. Often times, families feel forced to choose between a funeral service and making a charitable donation for medical research and education.
At NARI, we are able to combine the selfless gift of body donation, with the closure and celebration of life that is made possible by a memorial service. Our virtual funeral service option allows families the opportunity to have a no-cost option for honoring the life and memory of their loved one before donation.
Why We Are the Right Choice
Our mission is to provide every university in need with the resources necessary to inspire the next generation of scientists, doctors and educators. Through our work, we aim to encourage and motivate students to explore careers in science and medicine.
All of our work is done in strict compliance with federal and state regulations, including the Uniform Anatomical Gift Act (UAGA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and all industry standards. Our company is a freestanding organization licensed by the Oregon Health Authority.
Our Commitment To Excellence
Our focus on improving the health and wellness of all people is the principle that guides our work day to day. Everything we do is performed with the highest level of integrity and respect for our donors. Each donation is conducted with absolute care and safety as our top priority, ensuring the dignity, efficacy and lasting impact of the anatomical gifts entrusted to us.
For grief and bereavement support, we strongly recommend the following reputable resources and organizations: Verywell Health and The Grief Recovery Method.
Why Does Your Donation Matter?
We are a company that facilitates medical advancements through the exploration of the human body. Body donation is an integral part of the modern healthcare system. The anatomical gifts of our donors provide educators with the resources necessary to inspire the next generation of scientists and physicians.
Because of anatomical donations, scientists have been able to develop better techniques to combat the limitations that afflict people today. These innovations include brain disease research, cancer treatments, reconstructive surgery techniques, medical implant development, and much more.
Donation Transparency
We believe that donors and their families should have a transparent understanding of how anatomical gifts are used and why body donations are so important to medical education. We conducted a survey of universities, research laboratories and surgeon training organizations to highlight the important work that is made possible by body donation. The feedback we received also demonstrates the ongoing need for anatomical gifts to make future education and research possible.
